Bianca Lurvink - Interactive Performance Designer

As an all-rounder, Bianca can be subdivided into an interactive performance designer, designer, dramaturge, audience director and experience maker.

Bianca Lurvink is an Interactive Performance Designer and makes installations/performances in which the audience plays an important role. Starting from an image or question that often concerns the position of people: both intrinsic and extrinsic. Through theater and digital technology she plays with disrupting this position in order to arrive at new and exciting insights and experiences. Whether her work is an installation, performance, walking route or audio tour: Bianca wants to touch her audience, right in that spot behind your breastbone.

Besides the fact that Bianca is interested in new technology and the experience of a body and mind, she also stands for meaningful craftsmanship. Working with different kind of craftsmanship Bianca feels more connected to the work and the audience. She uses this knowledge and experiments in production and research processes as well as in the final work.

The Achterhoekse 'Gas d'r op' and Rotterdamse 'Niet lullen maar poetsen' mentality are a few motives Bianca uses in her workflow.

In 2016, she graduated at the Secondary Vocational School of Performing Arts at RijnIJssel College in Arnhem.

In 2020 she graduated at the University of Arts in Utrecht (HKU) at the study Interactive Performance Design (IPD)

During the third study year of IPD she did an internship with scenographer Theun Mosk.

In 2023 Bianca was Junior Directeur Educatie at Museum Villa Mondriaan in Winterswijk.

Scenography work, theater design, installations and interaction design were shown at Bring Your Own Beamer Festival in the Netherlands and Belgium, Betweter Festival in Tivoli Utrecht, Festival 2 Turven Hoog, Theater Festival Vuurol, Hoogte 80 festival, Theater 't Hof Arnhem, AMZAF Young Talent Festival, Carolina Festival,  Visual Theater Festival Worteldagen, Ars Electronica Festival in Austria, Stichting Sites of Memory, RAN festival, MAKE SPACE HKU 2020, Theater Kikker, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Over het IJ festival, Stichting Constant, Le Guess Who?, Floriade.
